The Minoans were religious, their main religious figure being bulls. Fences any walls were decorated with the horns of bulls, bulls frescoes would cover palace walls and a popular Minoan sport was bull leaping (back-flipping off a bull to show athletic prowess). The most common religious practice was the ritual sacrificing of bulls using great-axes and collecting their blood.

I chose to do a glass bottle filled with bull's blood because not only was it significant to their culture and this particular drawing is good personal practice.
My preferred area of concept art is fantasy and I predict it will stay that way in my career, magical potions are extremely common in this genre and I see myself digitally painting potions often in the future.
I will be taking a bit of a magical approach when painting this blood, the Minoans thought bull's blood holy so I may make it glow or have some kind of other unrealistic effect.
